Thank you for your interest. It is very important to find the best fit for your therapy journey and I encourage you to schedule several consultations to find that perfect fit.
I have been a professional counselor since 2002, with work experiences ranging from child and family therapy in outpatient and residential settings to adult treatment in triage and managed care settings. I opened Mindfulness Counseling in 2022 to focus on individual therapy for adults with anxiety and depression.
I was originally trained in the CBT model, focusing on reducing suffering by understanding how our emotions, thoughts and behaviors work together. In recent years I have found my passion in mindfulness-based therapy using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Integrated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MiCBT) and Intuitive Eating. I work from a Buddhist Psychology orientation, integrating meditation, mindfulness and compassion to reduce distress from anxiety, depression, and chronic pain.
I am a trained provider in MiCBT, an intensive 10-week program based on the work of S.N. Goenka and Insight Meditation retreats. This is a program that takes dedication and effort, but the outcome of peace and equanimity are well worth it.

Life is hard, but there are strategies and tools you can learn to help you overcome challenges and move towards happiness. The way to start creating a joyful life begins by understanding what the problem is and what actions you can take to create change. I love working with teenagers, parents, couples, families, and adults of all ages who are dealing with anxiety, depression, conflict, transitions and stress. No matter what stage of life we are in, we can get stuck and struggle to find hope. I believe living a meaningful life is possible regardless of our circumstances and I would love to help you find joy and purpose in your journey.
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you determine the life you want to live and understand what thoughts and actions are holding you back. We'll work together to reduce the impact negative experiences have on your happiness and to increase your ability to build a life that is meaningful and filled with joy.
We can work together in a non-judgmental, compassionate environment, to navigate transitions such as divorce, raising children, teen anxiety, empty nesting, retirement, and loss. You do not have to do this alone! Let's start talking... it will help.
Able to accept self-pay and Blue Cross/Blue Sheild plans at this time.
