Practice Philosophy
Healing begins with safety — feeling genuinely, deeply safe. Before insight or growth, the therapeutic space I offer is one where you can exhale. Where what you bring — your pain, your contradictions, your questions — is met without judgment and without rush.
That foundation of safety brings belonging. You are welcome here as you are, in whatever season of life you're navigating.
From safety and belonging, you can thrive within life's challenges. You can find peace and ease in the midst of suffering.
What is Mindfulness-Based Therapy?
Mindfulness-Based Therapies are a group of evidence-based therapeutic interventions that integrate mindfulness practices with traditional psychological techniques to help individuals manage anxiety, depression, and stress. It focuses on cultivating present-moment awareness, self-acceptance, and non-judgmental observation of thoughts and emotions.
Present-Moment Awareness – Encourages individuals to focus on the here and now rather than ruminating on the past or worrying about the future.
Non-Judgmental Acceptance – Helps clients observe their thoughts and emotions without labeling them as “good” or “bad.” This can be cultivated through non-attachment practices while remaining present and mindful of the emotions that arise and pass.
Emotional Regulation – Supports the development of healthier ways to respond to stress and emotional discomfort.
Cognitive Defusion – Teaches individuals to detach from negative thought patterns rather than being consumed by them.
Compassion for Self and Others – Promotes self-compassion and reduces self-criticism.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – Encourages mindfulness and values-based action to enhance psychological flexibility.
Mindfulness-integrated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MiCBT) – Blends an evidence-based CBT model with Vipassana meditation in the style of meditation teacher, S.N. Goenka.
Intuitive Eating – Promotes a healthy relationship with food by emphasizing body awareness, self-compassion, and rejecting diet culture.
